ITINERARY
Day 1: Johannesburg Check-in at our Johannesburg hotel before 7.00pm . At 7 meet your tour guide and fellow passengers for a briefing.
Day 2: Mpumalanga [B] After breakfast departure towards Kruger Nat. Park . En-route we visit the many scenic delights of the Panorama Route , including Blyde River Canyon , God's Window and Burke's Luck Potholes.
Day 3: Kruger Park [B] An early start to catch the best game viewing time. Full day game viewing from our coach. Late afternoon return to the hotel Optional: Full day game viewing from an open, safari-style vehicle.
Day 4: Swaziland [B] After breakfast departure for the Kingdom of Swaziland . Visit to the Ngwenga Glass Factory and overnight near Mbabane .
Day 5: St Lucia Sanctuary [B] We stop at road-side curio markets as we enter Zululand , and overnight in the World Heritage site of St Lucia Estuary, home to hippo, crocodile and prolific bird life. Optional: Afternoon game viewing in the nearby Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve.
Day 6: Durban [BD] A relaxing morning allows time to explore Hluhluwe Game Reserve. We then depart for the coastal city of Durban . During the afternoon a tour of Durban city is included. Optional: Boat cruise on Lake St Lucia before departure.
Day 7: Drakensberg Mountains [BD] We drive to the majestic Drakensberg. The remainder of the day is leisure surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. Available activities include swimming, horse riding, tennis, fishing, etc
Day 8: Wild Coast [BD] After breakfast departure for the Wild Coast , home to the colourful Xhosa people. En-route we visit the regional capital, Umtata (where Nelson Mandela grew up). From our hotel you have views of the dramatic coastline.
Day 9: East London [B] A leisure morning is followed by departure for the sleepy city of East London , South Africa 's only river port.
Day 10: Port Elizabeth [B] We travel through country settled by the 1820 British Settlers. The regional towns of King William's Town and Grahamstown still have a frontier/English village atmosphere. The afternoon is at leisure in Port Elizabeth .
Day 11: Garden Route [B] Continue westwards, through the deep Tsitsikamma Forest , across the high Storms River Gorge to the trendy village of Knysna where we check in at our charming overnight hotel.
Day 12: Garden Route [BD] We cross the Outeniqua Mountains to the town of Oudtshoorn . Here we visit an ostrich farm and the amazing Cango Caves . Return to Knysna for overnight.
Day 13: Garden Route [B] Travelling via the coastal town of Mossel Bay, the Cape-Dutch village of Swellendam and the Huguenot Tunnel we reach Cape Town during late afternoon.
Day 14: Cape Town [B] A full day at leisure in beautiful Cape Town . Optional: Join a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula and Winelands.
Day 15: Cape Town [B] Leisure in Cape Town until time for your transfer to the airport. |
