This exciting 19-day adventure crosses the continent. Commencing in Buenos Aires, the city of tango, and finishing in Lima, founded in 1535 and known then as the ‘City of the Kings’.
After visiting the sites of Buenos Aires and experiencing this cosmopolitan city, transfer to the magnificent Iguassu Falls for two nights. Then, by air, transfer to Salta, located in the centre of the Argentinean winelands. After seeing this colonial city and tasting some of the exquisite wines of the region, the journey continues north into Bolivia, a landlocked country high on the Andean Altiplano. Here the soaring, snow-capped mountain peaks, the desolate salt lakes and incredible landscapes of the Altiplano are sure to leave lasting memories. After visiting La Paz, the world’s highest capital city, we cross Lake Titicaca to Copacabana, Puno and on to Cuzco, the major centre of the Incas. A full day excursion by First Class train and bus takes you to Machu Picchu. After returning to Cuzco with a leisure day to explore the Indian market, fly to Lima for your return or onward flight.

ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Madrid [D]
You are met on arrival and transferred to your 4* city-centre hotel, just a few steps from the Prado and Sofia Museum . Remainder of day at leisure. At 8.30pm meet your local guide for a visit to the flamenco restaurant Las Carboneras.

 

Day 2: Toledo [B]
Transfer to the historic city of Toledo by public bus. Enter the old quarters and visit the City Hall, the Gothic Cathedral and walk the old Jewish Quarter to visit the Church of St Tomé and its famous painting of El Greco “The Burial of Count Orgaz”. Other sights on this tour include the Synagogue of Sta maria la Blanca, Church of San Juan de los Reyes and the House Museum Victorio Macho which has superb views over the River Tagus.

 

Day 3: Madrid [B]
Meet your guide at 10.00am for a two-hour walking tour of Medieval Madrid, passing through both the old Arabic and Christian quarters dating from the 9 th to the 16 th C. Afternoon at leisure.

 

Day 4: Cordoba [B]
Transfer and public train journey to Cordoba . You are met on arrival and taken to your renovated, Arabic style, 3* hotel located in the old part of the city, five minutes from Paseo de la Ribera Meet your guide at 4.00pm for a 3-4-hour city tour visiting the 8thC Mezquita de Cordoba, the old Jewish quarter, Las Flores Street and other sites.

 

Day 5: Seville [B]
After breakfast transfer and train to Seville , followed by transfer to your 4* hotel in the heart of the city. Meet with your guide at 4.00pm for a tour of the classic attraction of Seville .

 

Day 6: Madrid [B]
Return to the capital by train. You are met on arrival for transfer to your hotel. Rest of day at leisure.

 

Day 7: Departure [B]
Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
