This exciting 19-day adventure crosses the continent. Commencing in Buenos Aires, the city of tango, and finishing in Lima, founded in 1535 and known then as the ‘City of the Kings’.
After visiting the sites of Buenos Aires and experiencing this cosmopolitan city, transfer to the magnificent Iguassu Falls for two nights. Then, by air, transfer to Salta, located in the centre of the Argentinean winelands. After seeing this colonial city and tasting some of the exquisite wines of the region, the journey continues north into Bolivia, a landlocked country high on the Andean Altiplano. Here the soaring, snow-capped mountain peaks, the desolate salt lakes and incredible landscapes of the Altiplano are sure to leave lasting memories. After visiting La Paz, the world’s highest capital city, we cross Lake Titicaca to Copacabana, Puno and on to Cuzco, the major centre of the Incas. A full day excursion by First Class train and bus takes you to Machu Picchu. After returning to Cuzco with a leisure day to explore the Indian market, fly to Lima for your return or onward flight.

You'll visit remote villages and witness a lifestyle that has not changed for centuries. You'll discover traditional weekly markets where Berbers crowd together to buy and sell their wares and catch up on local news.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Ouarzazate
You are met on arrival at Ouarzazate airport and transferred to your hotel.

 

Day 2 M'Hamid   [BLD]
Drive south via the Draa Valley to the desert town of Zagora where you’ll make a
stop for lunch. Continue to the village of Tamegroute, where you can visit the
village with its traditional pottery craft and library of ancient Islamic texts. You
then continue to the end of the desert road and the village of M’Hamid. Overnight
in a desert hotel. (Ouarzazate-Zagora approx 3.5hrs, Zagora-M’Hamid approx
2hrs)

 

Day 3 Desert Camp   [BLD]
Depart by 4x4 to explore the desert region. In the late afternoon you can ride
camels (approx 1.5hrs ride), or travel with you’re your 4x4 to your private desert
camp. You have comfortable private tents equipped with bedding. There is a
separate chemical toilet and shower tent.

 

Day 4 Ait Ben Haddou   [BLD]
Return in your 4x4 to M’Hamid and drive back via Zagora and the Draa Valley to Landcruiser or equiv
the kasbah village of Ait Ben Haddou. Afternoon to explore the village.

 

Day 5 Départ   [B]
Transfer to Ouarzazate airport for your departure. (Ait Benhaddou-Ouarzazate
approx 45mins).
