We have included short tours to the major sites and markets of Saigon and Hanoi, so as not to tire the younger family members and to provide opportunities to purchase jeans and Nikes at bargain rates. Also included are leisurely days on the beach at Nha Trang and at a resort-style hotel in the medieval town of Hoi An. You will find time to relax and unwind while the kids splash in outdoor swimming pools. In our view- Fiji eat your heart out. This is so much better.

The austere beauty of the inhospitable, arid Atacama is the major attraction of this region. It is the driest region in the world, occupies one-quarter of Chile, but accounts for less than five percent of its population. But for several thousands of years, the Atacama has been home to the indigenous people and countless relics have been preserved, almost intact, in the dryness of the desert. Huge salt lakes, ghost towns, sulphurous geysers, the Valle de Luna, and the small oasis village of San Pedro make a visit worthwhile.

Day 1: San Pedro
Flight from Santiago to Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama

Day 2: Atacama [BL]
A full day excursion to the Atacama Salt Lake and the Toconao and Miscanti Lagoons

Day 3: Atacama [B]
A day at leisure in San Pedro, or join an optional excursion to the El Tatio Geysers.

Day 4: Santiago
Transfer to Calama and return flight to Santiago
