BsAs is not only the capital of Argentina, it is also included amongst the ten greatest cities in the world. Here you’ll find an elegant atmosphere with coffee and tango bars, boutique shops and grand boulevards. Iguacu contains 275 distinct water falls over a width of 2.7km. Views from the many platforms and catwalks are indescribable. Rio, on the other hand was established in 1556 and is the cultural and entertainment centre of Brazil. A highlight is ascending Sugar Loaf Mountain to see the city below and the giant statue of Christ on the peak beyond. ITINERARY Day 1: Buenos Aires Morning arrival. You are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. An afternoon tour includes Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and Metropolitan Cathedral. Continue to San Telmo and to colourful La Boca. Visit the cemetery where Eva Peron rests, then continue along Avienda 9 de Julio to the Plaza Lavalle and the Teatro Colon to Palermo. Day 2: Buenos Aires [B] A day at leisure in the city. We suggest a stroll along Avienda Corrientes and Florida, then taking a taxi to La Boca. Or join an optional full-day visit to a traditional Estancia to see Gauchos at work. Day 3: Buenos Aires [B] A morning tour visits the Delta Region where the Rivers Plate and Parana meet. Here you’ll find both colonial and modern mansions, islands covered in lush vegetation, yacht clubs; it is the weekend paradise for wealthy Portenos. Day 4: Iguacu [B] Transfers and flight to Iguacu. You are met on arrival and transferred to the Nat. Park for a walk along the up and down-river trails, and via the Jungle Train to the Devil’s Throat. Afterwards cross into Brazil and our hotel. Day 5: Iguacu [B] Morning visit to the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along the paths following cascades and along the catwalk which leads very close to the bottom of the Devil’s Throat. Then take the elevator to the road for the bus transfer to your hotel Day 6: Rio De Janeiro [B] Transfers and flight to Rio. After check-in join an afternoon tour to the highlights of the city; Downtown, Rio Branco Avenue, the Opera House and Cathedral, then ascend Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car. Day 7: Rio De Janeiro [B] Today is a day at leisure in Rio, or you may take any of the many optional tours offered; to the summit of Corcovada Mountain and past Rio’s famous beaches, a cruise with lunch to tropical islands; a visit to the verdant forests of Sierra dos Orgaos, or an evening visit to the ‘Rio By Night’ Samba Show. Day 8: Rio De Janeiro [B] Transfer to the airport for your onward flight |
