Daily departures Comfort Class Tended Camps & lodges Seeing some of the 700 last remaining mountain gorillas is a fantastic experience. This short safari commences with your arrival at Entebbe airport and takes you tracking through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This reserve has four habituated families of gorilla, birds, various monkey species and exciting flora. The hillsides are steepish and challenging.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Lake Mburo [LD] Your morning arrival at Entebbe . You are met and assisted before the 4-hour road transfer to Lake Mburo , arriving for lunch. Afternoon canoe excursion on the Lake followed by an afternoon game drive. Overnight Mantana Tented Camp.
Day 2: Bwindi [BLD] Early departure for Buhoma and the Impenetrable Forest (5 hours drive). After lunch we take a forest walk to allow you to acclimatise. Overnight Bwindi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking [BLD] Carrying a packed lunch, and subject to Tracking Permit availability, you and your guide enter the Forest in search of mountain gorilla. Guide and porters will carry your pack. The terrain, dense vegetation and altitude (up to 5200m) requires a high level of fitness. Later return to the Lodge.
Day 4: Kampala/Entebbe [BL] After breakfast return by road to Kampala/Entebbe airport with lunch en-route (Driving time 10 hrs).
