This exciting 19-day adventure crosses the continent. Commencing in Buenos Aires, the city of tango, and finishing in Lima, founded in 1535 and known then as the ‘City of the Kings’.
After visiting the sites of Buenos Aires and experiencing this cosmopolitan city, transfer to the magnificent Iguassu Falls for two nights. Then, by air, transfer to Salta, located in the centre of the Argentinean winelands. After seeing this colonial city and tasting some of the exquisite wines of the region, the journey continues north into Bolivia, a landlocked country high on the Andean Altiplano. Here the soaring, snow-capped mountain peaks, the desolate salt lakes and incredible landscapes of the Altiplano are sure to leave lasting memories. After visiting La Paz, the world’s highest capital city, we cross Lake Titicaca to Copacabana, Puno and on to Cuzco, the major centre of the Incas. A full day excursion by First Class train and bus takes you to Machu Picchu. After returning to Cuzco with a leisure day to explore the Indian market, fly to Lima for your return or onward flight.

Departs from Cairo. This short extension visits the 6thC Monastery of St Catherine at the foot of Mount Sinai and allows time for those who wish to climb Mt Sinai. It then continues to a 5* Beach Resort hotel at Sharm el Sheik for relaxation at this Red Sea paradise.

 

 

ITINERARY

Day 1:  St Catherine    [D]
Morning departure from Cairo. Cross Suez and follow the Gulf to St Catherine’s Monastery. We check in at a modest hotel or, if available, at the ancient Monastery itself. Afternoon visit to the Monastery .

 

Day 2: Sharm el Sheik    [BD]
Optional early morning trek to the summit of Mt Sinai.

Morning transfer to the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheik. Overnight at a 5* beach resort for 3 nights.  Afternoon at leisure.

 

Day 3-4: Sharm el Sheik    [BD]
Days at leisure on the beach, or your participation in any of the many available optional activities.

 

Day 5: Departure    [B]
Transfer to Sharm el Sheik airport for your flight (not included) to Cairo and onward arrangements
