Departures from Livingstone/Victoria Falls May 6/ June 3/ July 1, 15/ August 5, 19/ September 2, 16, 30/ October 14/ November 4/ December 2 Maximum 10 people, accompanied by a guide who is also the driver. Most of the breakfasts and dinners are provided in the restaurants of the Lodges. The guide will prepare lunches and on certain days (such as when inside a national park) breakfast and dinner as well.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Mudumo National Park [LD] Leave from Livingstone in Zambia heading towards the Zambezi River . Cross the border into Namibia with an afternoon game drive through Mudumo National Park .
Day 2: Rundu [BLD] Drive west along the Caprivi Strip to Rundu. The afternoon is at leisure but optional activities such as a sunset cruise, horse riding or traditional dancing shows are available.
Day 3: Rundu [BLD] Spend the morning visiting either the local church or school in Rundu. These provide great cultural meeting opportunities. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 4 & 5: Etosha National Park [BLD] Drive further west and enter the Etosha National Park for two nights. From our overnight camps, at night, you'll hear the wild sounds of Africa . During the day we take game viewing drives and see them at close hand.
Day 6: Kamanjab [BLD] Leave Etosha and drive to Kamanjab. Afternoon visit to a traditional Himba village, witness how the Himba people have adapted to life with very little water.
Day 7: Twyfelfontein [BLD] Drive to Twyfelfontein with an en-route stop to see the bushman cave paintings and etchings. We also stop along the way to visit the Petrified Forest and the Organ Pipes – an ancient volcanic rock formation.
Day 8 & 9: Swakopmund [BLD] Leave the dry interior of Namibia and drive to the coastal Germanic town of Swakopmund . The rest of the day, and Day 9, is spent at leisure to explore the town or participate in optional activities such as sand boarding, quad biking, a scenic flight or a spot of fishing.
Day 10: Namib Naukluft National Park [BLD] Drive into the world's oldest desert. We spend the day exploring the Namib Naukluft National Park . Camp under the stars. in the wide open spaces at Sesriem
Day 11: Sossusvlei [BLD] Morning visit to Sossusvlei to see the world's highest sand dunes which surround a giant clay pan. Afternoon continue to Windhoek .
Day 12: Waterberg Plateau [BLD] Drive northeast to the Waterberg Plateau, hike through the reserve and view the wildlife on the plateau.
Day 13 & 14: Bushmanland [BLD] Drive deep into Bushmanland. On Day 14 we have a guided visit to the Ju'/hoan San-Bushmen community. Traditional games will be played in the afternoon, ending with an evening of traditional dancing.
Day 15 & 16: Okavango Delta [BLD] Depart for Etosha 13, a small village on the western border of the Okavango Delta in Botswana . Day 16 is spent exploring the network of waterways in dug-out mokoro canoes, viewing the wildlife in the Delta.
Day 17 & 18: Khwai Region [BLD] Leave the Okavango Delta and drive to Maun, then continue to the Khwai River Region for a night game and more game drives the following day.
Day 19: Makgadikgadi Pans [BLD] Leave the bush and travel east to the Makgadikgadi Pans. On arrival visit Planet Baobab to view the elephant water hole.
Day 20: Chobe National Park [BLD] Morning transfer by road to the Chobe National Park . The afternoon is spent at a relaxed pace with a sunset, game viewing cruise on the Chobe River .
Day 21: Victoria Falls [BLD] Leave Botswana via ferry and drive back towards Livingstone. Stop at the Victoria Falls where you have the opportunity to partake in several activities such as white water rafting, bungee jumping, an elephant safari or just sit and admire the natural beauty of the world's largest water curtain.
Day 22: Livingstone [B] End of services and transfer to the airport or your hotel for your onwards arrangements. |
