We have included short tours to the major sites and markets of Saigon and Hanoi, so as not to tire the younger family members and to provide opportunities to purchase jeans and Nikes at bargain rates. Also included are leisurely days on the beach at Nha Trang and at a resort-style hotel in the medieval town of Hoi An. This safari includes the sites of Muscat city, the fortifications of Nizwa and Jabreen, and a trip into the mountains of Jebel Shams and the Wadi Nakhr Gorge. We then continue into the desert sand dunes of Wahiba where we find the Bedouin and their camels. We overnight at a Desert Camp deep inside the dunes. At Wadi Bani Khalid we find crystal clear springs and verdant palmeries. We visit a typical Omani village before reaching the coast at Sur, an ancient port city, then follow the coastal road back to Muscat.
